Fair, documented handling

Complaints and Appeals

IASCU distinguishes complaints, membership appeals, privacy requests, safeguarding matters and emergencies so that each concern reaches the correct process.

Scope

The procedure may cover member conduct, misleading use of the IASCU name, programme administration, publication accuracy and procedural complaints.

Emergencies and safeguarding

Immediate danger, suspected crime or safeguarding risk should be reported to the competent local authority. IASCU is not an emergency service.

Before submitting

Provide a clear account, relevant dates, available evidence and the outcome sought. Avoid unnecessary sensitive personal data.

Process

A suitable process includes acknowledgement, scope review, conflict check, evidence gathering, response, reasoned outcome and an auditable record.

Appeals

An eligible appeal should be considered by people who did not make the original decision and should address a defined procedural or material factual ground.

Fairness

Good-faith reporting must not lead to retaliation. Confidentiality is respected within the requirements of a fair review and applicable law.
